I am 16/17. Can I register to vote?
The registration deadline for the 3rd May elections has now passed but you can register for future elections depending on when your birthday is. But you cannot vote until you are 18. I will be overseas temporarily on the day of the elections. How can I vote?
You can apply to vote by post or proxy.
Postal votes are only sent out 1 - 2 weeks before election day. You can choose an address for your postal ballot pack to be sent to (your home address or your temporary address while overseas) but you will need to consider whether you will be able to complete and return your form in time. It may be better to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.
